The "Wood Lap Desk" arrived sooner than expected. I love the pad on the bottom compared with a similar product my husband has. It can be removed for cleaning (attaches with Velcro) and has a "tube" to run wires through. The pen/pencil holder is very helpful when I'm doing paperwork as opposed to using it for my laptop computer.Wood Lap Desk

This lap desk is exactly what I wanted. I wanted it mostly to protect the notebook and my legs from getting too hot. The size and shape are perfect. I have a 15.6 laptop and still have some space on other side. However, I do not use a mouse so it does not need to be any larger. I am not sure exactly what the material is. Might be some sort of reasonably priced wood with a cherry-wood like finish, nothing fancy but it looks very decent and actually goes well with my furniture. This certainly is much better than plastic, both in terms of looks and quality. I also appreciate the handle and the area for a pen, just to have more options. And the cushion is attached with velcro so it can be removed. Maybe for cleaning or if you want to place the lap desk flat on the sofa next to you.

Nice wood surface but pad a little lackingJun 11, 2011

The wood surface is sealed so it's nicely holds my laptop even at an angle so the rubber feet don't slip. The pad is pretty simple padding with some material over it and it's velcro-ed to the wood. I will probably keep this lap desk a long time but will most likely ask my wife to stitch together a new pad/cover.
