5This desk was exactly what I wanted.Aug 08, 2010
By Jennifer Weibel-mckee
My husband and I use an IKEA Poang as our "study chair," but holding the textbooks and laptops for a long time was awkward and uncomfortable. This desk solved that problem perfectly. When the two sides are used together it holds a full binder or a heavy nursing textbook without slipping. When it is split it holds my husband's full size laptop and my netbook securely, with plenty of room on the smaller side for coffee, Monster, tissues for weeping at how long it is until graduation, and other necessitites.

It was easy to put together in about 45 minutes, although I had to study the directions for a few minutes to make sure I understood them. It would have sped things up if I had had the brains to figure out that each piece has a number sticker on it. Careful; the t-bar that holds the wheels will go on upside down and it doesn't roll well that way. The laminate and the metal are heavy duty and well made. It was simple to make sure that everything fit tightly and we haven't had any problems with it slipping.

The color goes well with our other dark wood and matches the chair perfectly. It rolls and locks easily. The adjustable height is great for finding that perfect study-funk, immobile-for-hours slouch. We've had it for three months now and it still looks great, despite being in a house with two preschool boys. The directions have a method of putting the table together that will reduce the chances of pinching fingers between the two sides but we're of the school of parenting that says they won't make that mistake twice.

This is one of those satisfying purchases that, at $80, feels like I found a great bargain. If we lose everything in an unfortuante fire/earthquake/tornado/sudden abyss I will buy this again.

2Good stand after I fixed it!Jan 10, 2011
By Kenneth J. Keller
Bought this stand because I thought it would be of better quality than somewhat less expensive models. 3 out of the 4 hex nuts spot welded to the tubes for the tensioning knobs were misaligned not permitting the tension knob screws to penetrate the tube until I used a small round file to remove the obstruction. The horizontal tube for mounting the large wooden platform was not perpendicular (not even close) to the vertical tube it's attached causing a severe "list" requiring major repair. It is obvious that the tooling used to make MY particular table is tired, worn & out of tolerance. But after several hours & $14.00 of material to repair it I now have a good sturdy notebook stand which I think is in fact better than some less expensive models I looked at. I would have rated this stand a 5 if I didn't have the quality control issues mentioned above.

5Excellent bedside computer work table!Sep 05, 2010
By Kelly
I am very impressed with this laptop table. I like to lay in bed and watch TV while doing work on my computer, but it's usually very hard to get comfortable and then I have my laptop cords laying around in my way. I like this table because it feels sturdy when raised high. It did start to lean a little when I put it on the absolute tallest setting. My bed and pillowtop mattress is very tall (32 inches off the ground), so it was important to me to have a stand that would be taller than my bed. I also added a narrow power strip, some sticky velcro, and a zip tie to connect power to it. I zip tied my extra computer charger and cell phone charger to the base, so now I have a neat and organized bedside power station on wheels.

Also, the Regency Walnut color is VERY dark, which I like because it matches my dark bedroom furniture. I think my bedroom suite is called "Dark Cherry Mahogony" and it is the same color as the laptop table. It is a very dark reddish brown color.

If the manufacturer was going to improve this product, it would be nice if if could raise even higher. Because if my mattress was any taller, it would not be as useful. I did quite a bit of research before buying a laptop table, and this one got the best reviews because it was tall and sturdy...but it would be great if it was even taller and could be used either sitting or standing.

4Great for working from bedMar 14, 2011
By Martha Lyon
This desk made it possible for me to work while confined to bed. It is split about 60/40 into two sections. While you can't adjust the sections to different heights, you can adjust them to tilt at different angles. Using my full-sized laptop I needed to keep both sections at the same level to use my mouse, but i could still fit a standard yellow-pad on the smaller side. With my netbook I had plenty of mouse room on the larger side and could tilt the left section flat. Either way, the table is stable enough to type on one side and write, or balance a drink or meal on the other. The table can be adjusted high enough to clear my lap on a standard height bed with a 17" mattress on it, and rolls easily to allow you to get up without having to rearrange a lap full of cords and equipment. The bottom cross piece and wheels fit under a bed and a couch with only 4" of clearance. I do wish it were about 4 inches wider, but by far the most user friendly table I have tested.

5Useful for us futon sittersDec 27, 2011
By Verile
My product came with the wrong wheels but I contacted the seller and they responded to me within the hour, promising to send them out post haste. They say it's never happened before so perhaps I'm just unlucky. Overall I'm pleased with the quality of the desk and the customer service despite the hiccup. There's 2 parts to the desk and the larger side is more than large enough for a 17 inch monster of a laptop and the other side perfect for tilting a text book for easy access and reading. As a student who doesn't want to over furnish his small, temporary apartment this is just what I needed. I'd recommend it.
