Excellent bedside computer work table!Sep 05, 2010 I am very impressed with this laptop table. I like to lay in bed and watch TV while doing work on my computer, but it's usually very hard to get comfortable and then I have my laptop cords laying around in my way. I like this table because it feels sturdy when raised high. It did start to lean a little when I put it on the absolute tallest setting. My bed and pillowtop mattress is very tall (32 inches off the ground), so it was important to me to have a stand that would be taller than my bed. I also added a narrow power strip, some sticky velcro, and a zip tie to connect power to it. I zip tied my extra computer charger and cell phone charger to the base, so now I have a neat and organized bedside power station on wheels.
Also, the Regency Walnut color is VERY dark, which I like because it matches my dark bedroom furniture. I think my bedroom suite is called "Dark Cherry Mahogony" and it is the same color as the laptop table. It is a very dark reddish brown color.
If the manufacturer was going to improve this product, it would be nice if if could raise even higher. Because if my mattress was any taller, it would not be as useful. I did quite a bit of research before buying a laptop table, and this one got the best reviews because it was tall and sturdy...but it would be great if it was even taller and could be used either sitting or standing.

This desk was exactly what I wanted.Aug 08, 2010 My husband and I use an IKEA Poang as our "study chair," but holding the textbooks and laptops for a long time was awkward and uncomfortable. This desk solved that problem perfectly. When the two sides are used together it holds a full binder or a heavy nursing textbook without slipping. When it is split it holds my husband's full size laptop and my netbook securely, with plenty of room on the smaller side for coffee, Monster, tissues for weeping at how long it is until graduation, and other necessitites.
It was easy to put together in about 45 minutes, although I had to study the directions for a few minutes to make sure I understood them. It would have sped things up if I had had the brains to figure out that each piece has a number sticker on it. Careful; the t-bar that holds the wheels will go on upside down and it doesn't roll well that way. The laminate and the metal are heavy duty and well made. It was simple to make sure that everything fit tightly and we haven't had any problems with it slipping.
The color goes well with our other dark wood and matches the chair perfectly. It rolls and locks easily. The adjustable height is great for finding that perfect study-funk, immobile-for-hours slouch. We've had it for three months now and it still looks great, despite being in a house with two preschool boys. The directions have a method of putting the table together that will reduce the chances of pinching fingers between the two sides but we're of the school of parenting that says they won't make that mistake twice.
This is one of those satisfying purchases that, at $80, feels like I found a great bargain. If we lose everything in an unfortuante fire/earthquake/tornado/sudden abyss I will buy this again.

laptop deskFeb 09, 2010 This desk has been perfect for me since I sometimes forget I even have a laptop and now instead of being stuck in a corner, it is right out in plain sight. Combine a portable desk with wireless internet and you've got yourself a systam.
