I had purchased a similiar light in the past for twice the price and loved it, so when I saw these in the gold color @ $9.99 I bought 3 more. There is a reason they are so inexpensive - the don't fit/make contact in the cigarette lighter holders of many cars. I tried mine in a Lexus, a Chevy and a Jaguar and it did not work in any of those cars. These are going back - I will go back to the original one I bought and get more of those. BTW, this one is manufactured to look exactly like a SpotLight but it's not. It doesn't have the same weight/heft as the SpotLight.

It's handy enough....I had hoped that it would automatically come on when removed from lighter, but it still is a handy light to have in car.

It's a strong little light and the aluminum body is nicely done. It has an additional red LED so you can find it in the dark. That LED can be annoying, though, depending on the location of your vehicle's power outlet - I had to rotate mine relative to the outlet, or else that red light would shine distractingly in my face or my passenger's.
Also be warned that part of the packaging is a protective cap on the plug end of the unit. It looks like it's part of the light, but I found out the hard way that it isn't.
For these reasons, it's a close SECOND to the factory flashlight from Volkswagen, hence the 4-star rating.

Great, but CAUTIONFeb 17, 2010
This is a GREAT product (small and very bright light); however, the packaging needs to emphasize that the light should NOT BE CHARGED MORE THAN 4 HOURS because it may EXPLODE!!!!!!! One of our lights exploded --fortunately, no one was in the vehicle at the time.
